#atthefarm January 9, 2024
When we purchased this farm back in 2017 we were living in Maryland. The plan was to retire here, someday. But meanwhile, I began posting on my Instagram account with the hashtag #atthefarm.
Now here I am, almost seven years later, beginning a new website with a new blog from the farm. It seems natural to follow through with #atthefarm for this space as well.
So, here we go.
I’d like to use this space to share stories and fun things that happen with the animals. Ideally, starting off with a happy, bright, lovely picture from the barn.
But that’s not today.
Rain is good. We need rain.
And today we are getting an abundance.
At this point the ground is saturated and we are growing a pond in the barnyard. Pictures of happy, content sheep soaking up the sunshine will have to wait for another day.
Not complaining. We need rain.
Instead, I’m sitting inside next to a warm fire with a lovely cup of tea, a good book, and some great company.
Blessed to have a roof over my head and a cozy place to watch the rain.
Check back in again. The sun will be back. And the characters in the barn are always up for a good story.
