Fiber Festivals, some big, some small happen all around the country throughout the year.
The first festival I ever attended was the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival, which is a massive gathering of all things Sheep and Wool.
Since moving to Kentucky and the farm I’ve made it a priority to attend the Kentucky Sheep and Fiber Festival in mid May. I’ve learn some fun and useful new skills by taking workshops at the festival including a Sheep to Shawl class while I was only dreaming of having my own sheep.
This year I met up with some new friends, and some old friends and had some great conversations, talking sheep, fiber, life and farming.
Walked around and chatted with some vendors who are shepherdesses and fiber artists that I’ve met at other markets and festivals. Bought some fun stuff that I’m looking forward to trying out.
It was a great day!
